Snapchat is an image messaging and multimedia mobile application. One of the principal concepts of Snapchat is that pictures and messages are only available for a short time before they become inaccessible.
Snapchat hyped the sharing of digitally decorated photographs on social media, substantially among college students, but also faces intense competition from larger Facebook and Facebook-owned Instagram. Now with the introduction of ‘search’ feature in Snapchat users will be able to search for over one million ‘Stories’ on Snapchat.
How it is done?
This has been made possible by using machine learning technology. Snapchat now enable users to search for over 1 million photos and videos known as ‘Snaps’ posted to the ‘Our Story’ option on the app, by creating new ‘Stories’. Users can search by place, event, animal, birds, celebrity and more.
The messaging app will utilize the power of machine learning to collect Stories based on categories from other Snapchatters who share photos and videos to the ‘Our Story’ option in the app.
This new feature was introduced just days after its rival “Facebook” made efforts to encourage users to take more photos and edit them with digital stickers that show the influence of Snapchat.
