Earlier in September 2016, Google announced about “Youtube Go” app, and now after six months Google rolled out this app in India.
The “YouTube Go” app is basically a lite version of the YouTube app, aimed to consume lesser data, thus suited better in areas with low internet connectivity.
However Google claimed that the YouTube Go is not a lite version of the YouTube app, but a improved version of it, designed specifically for Indian markets.
One of the best features of the YouTube Go is that it can be used offline. Below are some other features:
Preview videos before you decide to watch or save them. Control your data by choosing video MB sizes.
Save and watch Video:
Save and watch videos without buffering even when you have a slow connection. Users can save videos for offline viewing, for instance, and also select the video resolution in accordance with their internet availability.
Video Share without internet:
Share videos using wifi-direct with family and friends without using data.
Currently the YouTube Go app is available in its Beta version, in 5 Indian languages. Google will soon launch more stable version of this app, supporting 10 different languages.
