Internet Retail Expo 2013: 4th Edition based on the theme “Building Sustainable Internet Retail Enterprise”, was successfully concluded at Epicentre Convention Hall in Gurgaon, from Jan 31st to Feb 2nd, 2013 with 800+ unique participants attending the show.
IRE aggregated people from various domains including, Offline Retailer, Pure Play Online Retailers, Investors, Startups, Product & Service Providers, etc on a single platform.
Vikram Sehgal, Research Director, Forrester said, “Indians are no more price conscious than other buyers. It comes down to fundamentals of customer service and experience with the brand.” He also said, “Think about convenience, influence & behavioural perspectives for measuring ROI with e-commerce.”
In the panel discussion at IRE on “Online Vs Offline”, Sandeep Aggarwal, Founder and CEO, Shopclues.com favoured ecommerce by commenting “India E-Commerce is currently at the same place where China was in 2003”, he also said, “India hit the tipping point for the E-Commerce adoption in 2010 and next 10 year the market can be 120x bigger – $10bn by 2015 (Rs. 50k Crores) and $60bn by 2020 (Rs. 3 Lacs Crores).”
While discussing the topic “Selling to the same consumers differently” Gagandeep Arora, Country Leader – Industry Solutions, IBM SWG Group, ISA, added, “The consumerisation of technology is changing the way consumers interact, obtain and purchase items”
According to Sarabjeet Khurana, Director – Website Security Solutions (SEA / India & SAARC), Symantec, “Driving more customers to site and increase transactions from the site, protect customers data and corporate data, reduce risk exposure are the key goals/challenges of any online business.
From an Investor’s point of view, Siddharth Talwar, PE / Angel Investor, said, “Hire someone to ‘found’ your internet strategy not ‘run’ it.”
