India Railways has recently launched its online train tracking services, called TrainEnquiry.com where track the current position of train and some other useful information. The site has been developed by Indian Railway’s National Train Enquirey System(NTES). Its not like the conventional Railway sites, works pretty fast and UI and UX are also very much satisfying.
Search Trains with name, number etc
It powers the live status information of more than 8000 trains across the country in real time .
In a nutshell it does the following things for you:-
- Search for specific train and select the train :- Using train number, train name, source, destination or a combination of these. )
- Select the exact running Train:- Provides you start date of originating station and previous and next stops as well.
- Current Train Status Details:- current location, last station crossed, previous and next two stations etc.
- Search for trains arriving in next 24 hours or next 4 hours at a particular station.

They also have the mobile version of TrainEnquiry.com supporting almost all the modern internet-enabled smartphone devices.
So its better to check the current status of the train before leaving for the Railway Station.
