Bottom of the Ninth will be world’s first animated graphic novel by Ryan Woodward.
Ryan told about his experience to knowAhead in making of this app, how he came up to the idea and about his hardships in the making :-
“After being in a long funk of creative thought, not being able to think up or be passionate about anything, this idea finally came to me in November and it hit me like a truck. I knew I had to do it and I had to put in everything I could. The project started small. At first it was only going to be a few pages of comic art and some test animation just to see what kind of audience there was. But every day new ideas came to me and the project snowballed bigger and bigger and suddenly I found myself with bigger and greater ideas than I could handle. So I got some help from a few friends and I worked every single night, all night long, cause I still have my day job teaching animation. 4 months later, I lost 15 pounds of weight and slept an average of 2 hours a night.”
“I’m a firm believer that great things dont come easy and not without great sacrifice. If we want to create great things, then we have to sacrifice great things.” Added Ryan.
The first app, Prologue, will set up the characters and the world of Tao City. Candy Cunningham is an 18 year old girl, born with a phenomenal athletic ability, and a hot head! Her father, Gordy Cunningham is an aged major league player who’s athletic abilities have diminished over the years, but his ability to put on a good clown show always draws a crowd and ticket sales. Throughout the story, Candy faces some serious identity issues. The fame and glory of being a Tao City hero conflict with the true meaning of happiness taught to her by her father.
It will be hitting the iPad and iPhone world in May and it will be available in retina display for the iPad 3, iPad 1 and 2 at standard display and the iPhone.
We hope it will be huge success and wish Ryan all the best for the efforts.
